Archwizard Sheluna sends her apprentice, Samir, south to find what he can. At his side, in the guise of a common guard, Varajas goes along to make sure Samir doesn’t uncover anything he shouldn’t. But unbeknownst to both of them, there’s a third power turning its eye towards the lost power of the Knights, and its agent knows Varajas–knows who he is and what he’s done.
